Immigrants are the backbone of this country, yet we are constantly under attack. The reason that we don’t have opportunities is because we are immigrants. We must develop common sense ways to protect immigrants and allow them to live peaceful, ordinary lives here.
We must abolish ICE so that immigrants do not have to live in fear of agents knocking down their doors and taking them away for nothing more than living here. The militant practices have caused great distrust in districts like ours, and it is time to put an end to this agency.
Our immigrant communities deserve a voice, which is why I’m fighting to allow green card holders the opportunity to be a part of our democracy with the right to vote. Green card holders are affected by the decision making of our government and should have the ability to have an impact on it.
